Dear Parents/Guardians, As you know, Governor Cuomo announced that most of Staten Island has been designated a yellow zone. All Catholic elementary schools, including St. Clare, will now pivot to remote learning. Please be aware of the following: November 12th: *Tomorrow November 12th, St. Clare students in prek to grade 8 will not report to school. Teachers and staff will report to school only to retrieve their personal items and all materials necessary for remote learning. *Homeroom teachers will conduct a zoom class tomorrow at 1pm with their entire class remotely. The teachers will review the daily schedule with the children and answer any child's question to reassure them as we make this transition. Please note that the teachers will be taking attendance. Friday, November 13th: Children will participate in their full schedule remotely via zoom. Please note that attendance is taken daily, as usual, when the teacher admits students from the waiting room into the zoom class. We anticipate a smooth transition to remote learning. The Health and Safety Task Force of the Office of the Superintendent is working closely with NYC Department of Health officials to safely reopen our school buildings as soon as possible. I will continue to keep you updated of any new developments. Let us all pray that God continues to watch over our children, teachers, and families, keeping us all healthy and happy. Remember, we are St. Clare Strong! We will get through this taking each day at a time, putting our faith in God that things will return to normal soon. Love and prayers, Theresa Signorile |
