Important Information Regarding Covid Testing

posted Jan 2, 2021, 3:24 PM by Denise Olsen   [ updated Jan 6, 2021, 6:11 AM ]

Dear Parents/Guardians,

I hope you and yours enjoyed each and every day of this Christmas break.

There is important information and attachments to note as we resume school on January 4th, 2021 with Cohort A in-person, and Cohort B and C remote.

Attachment Number One:

A letter from our superintendent which contains answers to frequently asked questions regarding testing in our school community. (Staten Island Catholic Schools Update 010221) Students are NOT required to be tested prior to returning to school on Monday, January 4th.  However, upon their return to school, students must either present a consent form for in school testing (if they have not done so already) or present the signed attached agreement form for private testing (attachment number two).

Attachment Number Two:

A form that is to be completed and submitted regarding Covid Testing to be done privately if a parent chooses not to have their child tested in school if selected. (Private Testing Affirmation 10221)

Attachment Number Three:

The daily checklist that has been updated for January 2021.  All children must submit the daily checklist when they first come to school either Monday or Thursday.  There will be copies of the checklist available at the door for a parent to complete and sign if you do not have access to a printer before Monday or Thursday. (Even if you already submitted a daily checklist back in September, this checklist is an updated one that needs to be completed).

Flu vaccine for preK children:

All schools are instructed to exclude children in preschool under the age of 60 months who do not receive the flu vaccine.  Thank you to most of our families for following this protocol. Please do not send your preschool child to school beginning January 4th if your child is under the age of 60 months and the paperwork has not yet been completed or submitted for the flu vaccine.

Registration:

We will be opening our school registration shortly to our school families first before we publish our 2021-2022 application.  If you have a sibling that is not in our school, and would like to enroll your child, please call the school office to notify us and look for information coming this month.

Congratulations:

I know you will all join me in congratulating Mrs. Meghan Vautrinot, her husband Colin, and children Bernadette and Oliver on the birth December 22nd  of Charlotte Anne, who was born at 11:30am and weighed 9lbs 11 ounces and 21 inches long.  (and we cannot forget to congratulate grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Miller.  May God bless the growing Vautrinot Family!

This Christmas, as we celebrated the miraculous gift of Jesus, may we share with others the joy that knowing him brings! Thank you all so much for your cooperation, support, generous gifts, kind words, cards and prayers this Christmas Season. The entire administration, faculty, and staff are grateful for the abundance of generosity shown to us.

All of us here at St. Clare extend gratitude to you as we ask God to bless our families, and those special to you, in the year 2021.  This past year has certainly been a challenge in many ways. At the start of this new year, we move forward prayerfully remembering that we are in the holy presence of God. As Father Mastrolia wrote, “Together, let us look forward to the fulfillment of God’s promises throughout the year that lies ahead. Let us pray for one another’s continued health, happiness and well-being.  And let’s commit ourselves to the tasks that are before us as we continue the building of the Kingdom of God”.

As we bid goodbye to 2020 and turn our attention to 2021, my wish for all of you is that God's love shines bright in your new year, and His blessings overflow for you and your family.

Stay warm and dry!

Love and prayers,

Theresa Signorile
